Babies & iPhones

Katelyn has been fascinated by my iPhone for the last month or two and I'm really torn between letting her play with it and protecting it from her and her from it.  Her motor skills are still developing and she has a tendency both to drop what she's holding (what 6 month old doesn't!?) and to THWAP herself in the face with it.  So, considering it's an iPhone specifically, I've decided to try out a few apps for Katelyn... something that will entertain her while still allowing me control of the phone!  Here's what I'm going for so far:

All the apps on the left (or top) are game format - some are for when she's a little older like Snakes which is basically Shoots & Ladders.  And all the apps on the right (or bottom) are books - some of them read themselves to you (which is awesome!) and some you click along and read aloud.  They are all free versions so some of the stories aren't so great, but hey, they're free and she's 6 months old... not a literature critic!

I'm also exploring again the world of Podcasts.  Loads of them are free and they can be downloaded straight to my iPhone for Katelyn's amusement.  Really - technology can be extremely useful sometimes!
